Apple cider vinegar this, apple cider vinegar that. The popular sour liquid, also known as ACV, has been all the rage in the health and fitness community. But what exactly is so great about the infamous apple cider vinegar?! What does it do? What are the best ways to consume it?
First of all, ACV is not a miracle weight loss solution. If you want to get fit and lose weight, drinking ACV but continuing an unhealthy lifestyle will do nothing. ACV is only something that can supplement a healthy and active lifestyle. Adding ACV to your diet is not necessary, but it can be an interesting and beneficial way to make you feel motivated and healthy.
When consumed, ACV can help detox the body, boost the immune system, reduce cravings, relieve acid reflux, promote a healthy digestive system, and lower the risk of heart disease. These benefits may be due to ACV’s high levels of acetic acid. Something to remember is that ACV will not magically fix all your issues; it can only help assist them.
A common misconception that many people have about ACV is that it is always going to be an unpleasant experience. That widespread belief may be a result of the idea that ACV must be taken as an undiluted shot. WRONG! On the contrary, ACV should not be taken straight because it is extremely acidic and can burn your esophagus and stomach lining and damage tooth enamel.
I have provided my favorite concoction that allows me to reap the benefits of ACV without the horrible taste and acidic dangers. If you want a way to pleasantly down this horrible tasting liquid, this recipe is your guy!
Apple Cider Vinegar Elixir
★ 2 tablespoons of ACV
★ A dash of cinnamon
★ 2-3 stevia drops
★ Half a lemon
I stir all the ingredients into a 1 Liter mason jar, pouring the water until the jar is full, and sip it in the morning through a metal straw!
Another way to consume ACV is in pill form! Although I have tried ACV pills, I have not thoroughly tested them. From what I’ve read and understood, the pills have the same benefits as normal ACV, which should be the case because it is the same ingredient.
All in all, apple cider vinegar is an extra step that can supplement a healthy lifestyle! My main reason for using ACV is for digestion. I have truly noticed a difference in my digestion when I drink the aforementioned ACV elixir first thing in the morning. If you don’t see or feel the benefits of ACV, don’t drink it! If it works for you, it works for you. If it doesn’t, it doesn’t.
If you have diabetes and/or low potassium levels, do some more research and check with your doctor because apple cider vinegar may not be the right fit for you!
