Skincare is an essential part of my life. Like clockwork, I apply these products morning and night to ensure that my skin looks and feels as best as it possibly can. The majority, but not all, of these products, are clean, meaning they are formulated with natural ingredients that are free from sulfates, parabens, formaldehyde, phthalates, mineral oils, etc. In other words, these products are free from any junk that can do the skin more harm than good. The majority of these products, I purchased through Follain or the Detox Market, my two favorite shops for clean beauty products! But almost all of the products are available through Sephora!
The first step is to cleanse. I love a good cleanser, and I’ve tried so so so many. I’ve finally found my two all-stars. I use the Indie Lee Brightening Cleanser in the mornings. It smells like freshly picked strawberries due to the Strawberry Seed Oil! It’s super refreshing in the morning, and it wakes me up when I’d rather be in bed. I truly notice a difference in the clarity of my skin, and my few acne scars have significantly lightened. At night, I love the Skin Laundry Gentle Foaming Cleanser. This cleanser foams so nicely, and afterward my skin truly feels thoroughly cleansed.
Step 2: Indie Lee COQ-10 Toner
Morning and night I like to use the Indie Lee COQ-10 Toner. Before this product, I usually skipped this step in my routine. After the COQ-10 Toner though, I’m never going back. It feels extremely refreshing and it works to remove the last bit of sweat, oil, and dirt buildup from the face. I also love this hydrating toner because it acts as a protector from pollution and the elements.
Drunk Elephant takes the cake for serums. After using mini sizes of the C-Firma Day Serum and the T.L.C. Framboos Glycolic Night Serum, I had to bite the bullet and purchase the full sizes. The Drunk Elephant C-Firma Day Serum is the perfect morning serum. It sinks into the skin effortlessly and has significantly brightened my skin over time. Fun fact: you need vitamin C in order to produce collagen. And you definitely want collagen if you want youthful, bright, healthy skin. The Drunk Elephant T.L.C Framboos Glycolic Night Serum actually delivers results after the first use. The first time I used it, my skin was brighter, smoother, and more even the next morning. After continued use, it’s only improved my skin that much more. The product has AHAs and BHAs that work to bring the skin more radiance and clarity.
Step 4: Disciple Good Skin Oil
I love love love using oils on my skin. My skin needs hydration, but it also needs acne-fighting agents. The Disciple Good Skin Oil gives both hydration and clarity to my skin. I use it morning and night before moisturizer. It’s jam-packed with amazing ingredients such as cucumber seed oil, turmeric oil, and burdock root that bring broth moisture and clarity to the skin.
Step 5: Josh Rosebrook Vital Balm Cream
The Josh Rosebrook Vital Balm Cream is my go-to moisturizer. My skin has no chance of getting dry if I use this. I tend to use it only at night because it is quite thick. This moisturizer has a luxurious and rich texture that feels incredible from the moment it touches the skin. The magic ingredient, Indian Senna Seed, helps calm inflammation while adding a significant boost of moisturization. I don’t currently have a consistent day cream; some days I just use facial oil and other days I slather on a bit of the Drunk Elephant Protini Polypeptide Cream. I only have a sample, but it’s so so good!
Eye cream was always a forgotten step for me. I’ve recently started using the Youth To The People Superfood Peptide Eye Cream morning and night to ensure that my under eyes are properly taken care of. The skin around your eyes is incredibly thin and requires specific treatment. In addition to hydration, the product is also targeted toward reducing the appearance of wrinkles. I’m only 20 years old, so I haven’t noticed any anti-aging benefits, but I’m not looking for anything that specifically targets fine lines. All I need is hydration, and this product does that perfectly!
Sunscreen is essential! I love this Farmacy one. It goes on pretty white and thick but the consistency thins and the color blends as you rub it in. It’s super lightweight, doesn’t clog my pores, and doesn’t leave a white cast. Sunscreen is essential for me since I use acids in my routine. I love using clean sunscreens because it’s the first barrier between my skin and the day.
Disclaimer: Although all of these products work for my skin, they may not work for yours. Skincare is extremely personal. I am not an esthetician or a dermatologist. I am just extremely interested and passionate about skincare, so I wanted to share my favorites!
